"Smiley"

Another happy moment from "Smiley". He was eating cereal puffs and having so much fun! I was trying to get a picture of him making his first sign. We have taught him how to sign "more" and he finally caught on!

Game Ball Winner!!

Today was Thomas' lucky day! He even woke up saying that. Thomas has been working hard to be a "game ball" winner. Kids win the ball for various reasons. Thomas won for doing his best during the entire game and for always arriving early to the games and being prepared. We are so proud of our winner! The coach gave him a Brusters Ice Cream certificate and of course we had to go celebrate right after the game. As soon as we came home he found a special place on his dresser for it and Ken said that he'll go to a Trophy shop to buy it a special plastic case.

10 Months Old

I can't believe that Nathan is almost one! He continues to live up to his nickname "Smiley". I have never seen a baby so happy all the time! (And I'm not just saying that because I'm his mom! ha!) This month he got his 2 bottom teeth. It's about time! He also began to walk. I was so excited that he did BOTH during Spring Break. I was so glad to be home to see those teeth pop through his gums and to see his first steps. He typically takes 3 or 4 steps without falling down, but the other day he took 16 steps! I'm not sure if I am excited about walking. It's going to be crazy chasing two! I can't wait to see what other milestones he accomplishes next month!

First "Get Away"

During Spring Break Ken and I got to experience our first "get away" as parents. I have to admit it was fabulous! We stated planning it a few weeks ago and decided to go to the beach since it would be far enough away to feel like a vacation, yet close enough to the kids if they should need us. Nana and Papa offered to watch them for the three days. The boys had a lot of fun and we are so thankful that they could help us! We went to New Smyrna Beach and stayed at The Riverview Hotel. It was a small, quiet hotel where the morning paper was sweetly tucked under our door. I knew that I wanted to just relax and not plan anything! I have to admit that working full time along with being a mom to two gets rather stressful at times. I was looking forward to not having to worry about bottles, diapers, baseball, bedtimes, etc. While we were there we walked to the beach several times, ate at quaint restaurants, and enjoyed the peace and quiet. The only scheduled event was my pedicure and massage at The Spa at Riverview. The spa is on the same property as the hotel is simply described as "paradise". It is certainly a place we can't wait to visit again! Thanks to Elizabeth for suggesting we visit here. We are still talking about it!

Cheerios!

Nana has been waiting months for this moment. Nathan got his chance to eat cheerios! It took him a while to get the hang of swallowing it, but he ate 'em! Nathan has one bottom tooth and the second bottom tooth just broke through yesterday. (Also, yesterday Nathan started taking a few steps. I don't have it on video yet, but will post pictures as soon as I can!) Gosh, he's growing up too fast!

Downtown Disney FUN!

Today, Thomas and I joined my friend AnnMarie and her boys for some downtown Disney fun! We went to the LEGO store. I remember going there years ago, but simply passed it by. Now that Thomas is into LEGO's the store brought me a new perspective. We were both amazed by how big the LEGO statues were and how detailed the store was. Thomas picked out a ZURG (from Toy Story) LEGO set. I have to admit that it takes my brain lots of concentration to build with LEGO's. Thankfully, it didn't take me lots of time to put this set together.

After we visited the store, we had lunch at the T-Rex Cafe. While we waited for our table, Thomas made a stuffed T-Rex like when we visit the Build-a-Bear store. It even has a sound button that makes the dinosuar "roar". The restaurant was so cool! I just loved the lighting and sound effects. It was certainly a fun place to visit and I know we will be back again! (Thanks to Nana and Papa for watching Nathan. We knew we could get through the store and restaurant more easily without having to worry about his stroller and warm bottles. It was so helpful!)

Leu Gardens

I am apart of a little Mommygroup made up of Seminole County Public School teachers. We try to meet once a month when there is no school. It's nice to feel apart of a mommy group even though we all work. This time we met at Leu Gardens in Winter Park. The first Monday of every month they have storytime. Admission is free on these days, so it makes it even more fun to go. After the story time, we sat outside and shared Mommy stories. Then Thomas, Nathan and I walked along the path to the butterfly garden. It was such a beautiful day. I am so glad that we went!
