Easter

Here are some pictures of our Easter. Nathan put out carrots for the Easter Bunny and the Bunny almost ate them all. We went to church Easter morning and then hosted Easter lunch at our house.

Ken read to Nathan a book that my grandma gave me. Inside is my name hand written by me when I was Nathan's age.

Easter Egg Hunt #2

Easter Egg Hunt #2 was NOTHING like Hunt #1. Hunt #2 was hosted by a Kindergarten teacher at my school. She has done this for 5 years and boy-oh-boy it must take her an entire year to plan it. It was at Fort Christmas park (which we have never been before). There were games galore! The kids played at the balloon dart board and the balloons were stuffed with dollar bills. There was also a fun egg dunk game using a paper plate and toilet paper tube. We all tried it and only one egg broke. Then there was the egg drop. We had to design a contraption that could be dropped from a ladder and be sure that the egg didn't break. Ours didn't thanks to Ken's design. After a yummy lunch it was time for the Egg Hunt. Each family was given a particular egg to find that contained clues. You had to glue the clues to a worksheet and then visit each location around the park to get a secret message. When I mean secret, I mean secret!  We had to use a decoder pen to see the message. The first one to figure out the message and find the hidden golden egg won 25 gold coins. Well, we didn't' win. It was the most detailed egg hunt I've ever done and each year it's different. I can't wait to see what next year's it like!

Easter Egg Hunt #1

Nathan's school hosted an Easter Egg Hunt but due to rain it was moved indoors. The kids had fun meeting the Easter Bunny (something they no longer desire when we see him in the mall.) They got tons of jellybeans and little prizes. It was very quick but I'm glad that his school hosts fun family events.

Transportation day

Nathan's school has an annual transportation day. This year Ken took the boat to show the kids. Nathan was beyond excited! Ken was there a few hours showing all the kids the boat and even though it was a soggy start due to the rain, it turned out great. Nathan's teacher texted me this picture of him visiting Seminole County Sherriff Hum-V. He's just so happy!

Founders Day

We were excited to attend our school's annual Founder's Day. We look forward to it all year long. Maybe it's because we get to dunk teachers in the dunk tank. Yet again, we didn't win a basket but we still had fun eating popcorn and cotton candy. The boys had fun hanging out with the Bort family and their cousin Sam. The boys especially loved the prize of the red lip whistles.  (Mom didn't, but they did.)

Sweet Baby Eli

Sweet Little Eli Coffaro was born on March 13th. He arrived while I was at work and I drove to the hospital as if I was the one in labor just to meet him. Eli is already so blessed to be in a family that is so amazing. His big sister has so much to teach him!

Harlem Globetrotters

One of my favorite childhood memories is going to the Harlem Globetrotters game. When I found out they were coming to Orlando I was more excited than anyone. I was glad that parents wanted to come, too.  The show was at the UCF arena and we all had such a fun time.

Sea World With Thomas

I was very excited to be a chaperone on Thomas' class field trip to Sea World. It was such a pretty day. Thomas was up and dressed by 6:30. He was so excited to ride a "fancy bus". We left school at 8:45 on charter buses. Thomas insisted on sitting in the row right behind the bus driver. Once we got there we were told what time to meet up at the buses and then set free. His class had so many chaperones that Thomas was the only child I had to be in charge of. We grouped up with two other boys and their moms. We got to see an animal show. Another parent arranged for us to get to pet the animals afterwards. It was so neat to touch a penguin! We also saw the Shamu show and to save time we ate our bagged lunch during the show. Thomas' favorite part was feeding the sting rays. It was a very fun and long day. Most importantly, it was a fun day of just being with Thomas. I loved how he held hands with his friends and seeing him interact with them made me realize how grown up he is getting.
