Welcome Lady!

After our sweet Morris escaped in January our house hasn't been the same. Last week, a friend called me saying that an owner had abandoned their cat at the vet's office. Ken and Thomas went to meet the kitty and before I knew it, we had adopted her. Thomas named her "Lady". We had her declawed and were allowed to bring her home today. She is such a sweet cat. She has a similar personality to Morris. She is taking her time getting used to the house (and the noise). Finally....another girl in the house! Yes!

Braves vs. Phillies

The Braves played another great game on Saturday night. Thomas went up to bat three times and each time he hit the first ball thrown to him by his coach!!!! We were all so excited that he didn't need to use the tee. We are very thankful that Nana, Papa, Grandma Seiko, Aunt Michalle, Emily, Tom, Grammy Pammy and Daddy Vroom-Vroom came to the game. Wow! What a great cheering section!

HOPE is our CURE

Relay for Life is an 18 hour event to help honor the faces of cancer. It is sponsored by the American Cancer Society. Throughout the school year, my team has helped raise money for this amazing organization. Everyone chooses to particpate for their own reasons. These are my reasons.

Braves vs. Rays

On Wednesday, March 24th we played another ball game. Thomas did so well focusing on the game and only played in the clay a few times. For some reason the game was much shorter. I guess it's because most of the kids hit the ball that was thrown rather than having to use the tee. Thanks to Nana, Papa, and Grandma Seiko for coming to the game!

Braves vs. Pirates

The day after our "frustrating" game we played the Pirates. It was a Saturday game at 6:00 PM! What a difference! Thomas got a great night sleep. In fact, I woke up early to go to some garage sales and the boys decided to sleep in until 8:30. Go figure! Thomas played all day and relaxed. By the time it was game time, he was more focused on his two "goals": no playing in the clay and focus on the game. Nana, Grandma Seiko and Aunt Michalle came to cheer us on. Nathan was happy to be in his new toy I got a garage sale. It makes all kinds of fun sounds. It has a long handle in the back for an adult to steer. After the game it was PJ Day at Bruster's Ice Cream. We met the team there in our jammies and celebrated a great game! A perfect way to end a Saturday.

Braves vs. Twins

This game took place at 5:30 on Friday. When we have games on school nights I pick Thomas up from school and head straight to the ball field. Needless to say, it makes for a LOOONG day considering he wakes up a little before 6 am! At this game Thomas had a difficult time paying attention to the game. He was too busy twirling in the outfield, making sand castles with the clay and tossing his glove in the air. (Those were just a few of the infractions!) It was so frustrating for Ken and me to watch. In fact, I didn't even take any pictures since I was so distracted. We set new "goals" in hopes that the next game would have improvements. Thanks to Grandma Seiko for coming to the game and watching Thomas play.

My St. Patty's Day Boys

Thomas had a fun time checking around the house to find that sneeky Leprechaun. No luck! But he did leave him some chocolate coins. I got some quick pictures of the boys before we left for school that morning. I think Thomas looks so grown up in these photos.

Preparing for Leprechauns

Tonight Thomas decided that he wanted to make a Leprechaun trap. I got lucky by having a green shoebox from a trip to Sketchers. Thomas filled it with things that are green and shiny, gold. He dumped his collection of golden dollars in it, too. He was concerned that the Leprechauns would take them, but I let him know that they have their own gold. It was so hard for him to fall asleep with all the Leprechaun excitement.

9 months old!

Today Nathan turned nine months old. It's hard for me to believe! He continues to melt my heart everyday. We are so lucky that he is such a happy, sweet baby. Nathan went for his 9 month check-up last Friday. Ken took him to the doctor. He now weighs 20 lbs 12 oz. He is 29.25 inches tall. The doctor said that he is getting his bottom two teeth in. It's about time!!! Although, I know I will be sad when the toothless grin is replaced by some chomping teeth. Nathan had to get his flu booster shot, but that was the only shot he needed. He continues to be a good sleeper, with the exception of last night. He typically eats 4 jars of baby food a day. He has tried almost every fruit with the exception of strawberry and cherry. He is also a fan of cinnamon raisin granola and pineapple with ham. This month he also started saying "mama" and "dada". He loves bath time and wrestling with Thomas. Each month I am amazed by how much growth takes place and this month is no exception.

Braves vs. Twins

Due to the recent game that had to be canceled because of rainy weather, they decided the reschedule the game on our Monday afternoon practice time. Thomas was focused on one goal for the game: stay in his spot during the game! It's so tempting to run across the field just to catch the ball! Thomas focused well on the game and stayed in his area. He was proud of himself. The teams played great even though is had been a long day for all the kids. By the end of the game, Thomas was ready to be done and decided to play in the clay. Who could blame him?! We have two more games this week, too! Thanks to Nana, Papa, Grandma Seiko and Aunt Michalle for coming to cheer on the Braves!

Soooooo Big!

For weeks, I have been trying to get Nathan to show me how big he is! He showed us this weekend that he is "sooooo big!" :)

Trapped!

After we got home from the Sugar Mill, I changed Nathan's diaper and took it to the trash to only walk in on this.... Thomas said, "But Moooomm, I was pretending he was stuck in my trap!" I let him know that you can't trap your brother under a laundry basket even if he did think it was funny! I have a feeling this brotherly "love" is just the beginning!

Pancakes at the Sugar Mill

On Saturday, Thomas' baseball game was cancelled due to the field being too wet from all the rain we have had. It gave us the perfect opportunity to visit The Sugar Mill in DeLeon Springs. It takes about an hour to get there. We especially wanted to eat there since you get to make your own pancakes at the table using griddles. Thomas just LOVES pancakes! When we arrived there was a 2.5 hour wait at the restaurant. We couldn't have asked for more beautiful weather! Luckily, we still had our chairs and blanket in the car we use for baseball games. To pass the time, Ken and Thomas went on a nature walk. There was also a playground for Thomas to play on. Nathan and I enjoyed watching the water. There's nothing like sitting by the water with the aroma of bacon in the air! Once we got into the restaurant, we had fun making blueberry and pecan pancakes. Nathan slept the entire time while we ate. It was such a relaxing, wonderful way to spend a Saturday!

Braves vs. A's

On Saturday, March 6th, Thomas had his third baseball game. Thomas did a great job at bat. He was so proud of himself for hitting the ball that was thrown rather than having to use the Tee. Later in the game, he had a chance to play catcher. He didn't really like the equipment, especially the mask. If you ask me he did awesome. Playing that position kept him focused on the game rather than playing in the clay. Thanks to Nana, Papa and Emily for coming to cheer on the Braves!
