Thanksgiving Art

Our house was very decorated with Thomas' wonderful artwork and writing. It's amazing how much progress he has made in his writing in just one year. Hanging up all his beautiful work is one of my favorite traditions!

"Hooray For Thanksgiving"

Today was Thomas' Thanksgiving Show at school called "Hoory for Thanksgiving". It was so nice that Ken, Papa and Aunt Emily came to the show. Thomas was an Indian in the show and made his costume from a pillow case. The children sang about 6 songs, performed the play and we saw a movie that the children created in their computer lab class. Thomas' picture shows that he is thankful for "his guinea pig, his rabbit, angry birds, and his dog". Mind you, we have NO pets at home, so when I asked him about it, he said that he wants to have a guinea pig one day and when it dies he's going to get a rabbit to eat all the carrots off his plate! He said that the angry bird was about the video game that is on my I-Touch. Oh how this kid cracks me up! I had to get back to my class, so I was thankful that Emily took pictures of Thomas with some of his holiday artwork. It was such a cute show! What a fun way to start off celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday!



Last Game of the Season

It's hard to believe that today was the final game of the Fall season of T-Ball. The fall season is much shorter than Spring, which in some ways is kind of nice. Thomas played super for his last game. Ken even won the "game ball" for being a great coach's helper. Thomas said we need to get Ken a game ball case like he has. After the game the kids were presented their trophies. It is already proudly displayed on his shelf in his room. We couldn't have been more pleased with our coach this season. He was so good about making eye contact with the children, telling them how great they did each time they came in contact with the ball, and he always had a positive spirit. It was all about having fun. In the process, Thomas learned more about the game, the rules and loved when he was able to get players "out". We will certainly be requesting the same coach for next season. Thanks to Nana, Mr. Bill and Ms. Mary for coming to the game to see the Rays play one last time.



Fall Fun

It was such a pretty Sunday that we let the kids play outside until their hearts were content. The boys love riding the power wheels jeep together. Nathan just giggles with delight. Nathan learned to use sidewalk chalk as Thomas was writing sentences all over the driveway. (His teacher would be proud.) I caught Nathan climbing on Thomas' bike like it was no big deal. These boys love this nice fall weather.

Gemini Springs

We were invited by a childhood friend of mine to her son's second birthday party at Gemini Springs. We have never been there and were simply amazed. Ken loved looking at the springs and he was making mental notes for a future fishing trip. There was also a great playground area and lots of pavillions for picnic lunches and parties. The party was so much fun especially since there was a tot-size bounce house. It took Nathan a while to get used to it, but once he got going he LOVED it. Thomas became an instant fan of playing "Corn Hole" and he even did some kind of touch-down dance each time he got the beanbag in the hole. The party was college football theme with particular emphasis on the Florida Gators. Here are some highlights of our fun day. We can't wait to visit there again.

Brrr.....

On Friday night we had a make-up T-Ball game. Thanks to the rainy day before, the game was a chilly 57 degrees! Thomas loved it! All the kids seemed more giddy than usual. Nathan and I bundled up under blankets and we all sported the multi-layered look. Thomas did very well catching the ball and even got three kids 'out'. He hit the ball everytime it was pitched and never needed the tee. It's hard to believe that we only have two more games in this season. Go Rays!

A Few Winks

While I was making dinner I trapped Nathan in the highchair and gave him a graham cracker while he waited for dinner. Things were quiet. Quiet in this house means trouble. I looked over and found Nathan sound asleep in his highchair. Don't worry, it was short lived. I placed him in his crib and he popped his head up and was ready for dinner.
