Art Show

Nathan's school hosted their annual Art Show. I am always blown away by how much they do with these little ones. This year was no different. Nathan's class did a Nursery Rhyme theme. It was so cute. I really liked the big Humpty Dumpty. We got to see all the art work in the other classes. It was super crowded as I remember from years past so we got there a little late to allow all the early people to get in and get out. ha! This is yet another reason why we love Nathan's school!

No More Training Wheels

No. More. Training. Wheels.
Makes me want to cry and smile all at once.
This little boy is bound and determined to keep up with his older brother. Nothing will stand in his way, especially training wheels. We took them off and with a few tries, he was off. He's still learning to get on the bike and take off on his own, but I know with a few more days of practice, he'll be going around the block!

Go Green!

As part of the curriculum, second grade put on a  "Go Green" show for the parents for Earth Day. The children had made diorama representing a way they would help the Earth. They even gave the kids Go Green shirts. (They had one extra and Thomas' teacher gave it to him for Nathan to wear.) The kids sang songs, recited poems and we got to see the other dioramas. It was a great show and the kids were so proud of themselves.

Thomas' diorama with our house as the setting, pop up family members and cotton ball strung on fishing line. He did a great job!

Tooth Fairy's Been Busy

His smile is ever changing. Within one weekend he lost two teeth! (and he still has one more wiggly tooth). The poor tooth fairy will be broke!

My Co-Pilot

Look who's my new co-pilot. Thomas is now big enough to sit up front with me. The air bag is turned off and the seat is pushed back as far as it goes. He just loves it. I have to admit, it's nice having some company up front.

Monkey Bar Fun

"Look, Mom!" and there it was! My three year old mastering the monkey bars. This little monkey is all boy for sure! He has learned to do the monkey bars with little effort and no help from us. He's growing up too fast.

Good Day on theLlake

Well, it was a good day on the lake but a hard lesson to learn for our Thomas. Thomas was thrilled that he caught so many fish on the Winter Park Chain of Lakes. He was more excited that we planned on eating them for dinner. When Ken started to clean them he immediately noticed something wasn't right. The fish had worms. Thomas was so sad that he couldn't keep his fish. He cried for hours and thought it wasn't fair. It's a hard lesson to learn for a seven year old.

Relay for life

This year Relay for Life was held on a Saturday rather than it usually beginning on a Friday night. We went to help support such an important cause. The kids played games and bounced in the bounce house. After we had dinner, I went back up for a few hours to walk and to see the luminary presentation. The lone bag pipe player was especially wonderful.  Next year, I plan to head up Relay again for our school. It was sad not seeing our booth there.
