Early Birthday Celebrating

Thomas gets to celebrate his summer birthday at school tomorrow. He wanted me to make Angry Bird cupcakes. It was very hard to find the jimmies sprinkles in the colors I needed but I luckily found someone who sold them on Etsy. I made 2 dozen for his class and another 2 dozen for our house. whew! I think they turned out super cute.

Man Cave

Ever since we bought our house, Ken has wanted to build a shed. He plans to put the riding lawn mower inside, but now that it's built it may become the official "man cave". ha! He had the concrete foundation poured on April 1st and he has worked on it daily since! He finished painting it last weekend and finally "moved in" this week. I think he loves it and it's nice to reorganize our garage. All of a sudden the garage looks bigger! I think he did an excellent job!

Thomas helped paint the shed.

Weekend Fun

A few weekends ago we decided to take a trip to the Vera Bradley outlet. :) I was very excited about seeing all the patterns that were available. I was very pleased with the selection! I think it is my new favorite store. Although, one downfall is that it's such a long drive. Well, it certainly felt like a long drive especially since we were there during a thunderstorm. I was glad that the boys (Ken included) let me shop quietly to make my selection. As a treat, we took the kids to Downtown Disney since it was just down the road. We visited the Lego store and had dinner at a hot soup and sandwich restaurant, perfect for the rainy night. When we walked passed the Toy Story area, Nathan was so excited to see Buzz Lightyear! In fact, he couldn't even open his eyes to smile. We had a great time and it was fun to relax all together with no rush to be somewhere. That doesn't happen often.

Water Day!

During Water Day, the Kindergarteners got to wear their bathing suits to school and have tons of fun in the water. Thomas had a blast. I'm glad that I got some pictures of him enjoying this fun day at school. There were several stations that we rotated through and some of his favorites were shaving cream, even his teacher was full of it! He had fun trying to burst the water balloons by sitting on them. The kids got a special pizza lunch and had to change their clothes before early dismissal. It was a fun way to end the school week!

Portfolio Day

We celebrated the end of Kindergarten by attending Thomas' Portfolio Day. We were very thankful that Aunt Elizabeth, Nana, Papa, Emily, Tom and baby McKinley came to see the special performace. Uncle Mike had to work but we were able to meet up with him at our special meeting spot that morning before school. Thomas' class sang several songs and there was a photo slideshow of the year. It was neat seeing his picture from August and to see how much he has changed in just one year. Thomas sang....well, sort of. He was so focused on a smile that he didn't move his mouth to sing. His teacher said that was how he practiced for the show, too! {sigh...only Thomas!} We had fun looking through all his saved artwork and writings. We couldn't have asked for a better teacher and learning experience this year. He now has a strong foundation and a love for learning that I hope remains his entire academic career. We are so proud of him! First Grade he we come!

End of the Year Surprise

For months Thomas has been saving every dollar earned for a Nintendo DS. Some of his friends at school have one and he stands over their shoulder to watch them play it. We have been so proud of all of his Kindergarten accompishments! When he crawled into bed, he found a present. He was so excited that he got a DS, especially in the color red he wanted. He has already requested a trip to the game store to buy a case for it! It's hard to believe that in a few days he'll be an official first grader!

Thomas Gets Glasses

Thomas has been saying that the words on the computer at school are too small and we noticed that when he reads, he has to hold the book very close to his face. I decided to take him for a quick eye exam. They were able to tell within minutes that he was farsighted and needed glasses. Thomas was very excited about the news. Within one week they were ready to be picked up. I think he looks older and all grown up!

This Cowboy is All Tuckered Out!

Thirty minutes after Nathan fell asleep last night, I went in to check on him. You know, to make sure he was still covered up and that his monkey wasn't stuck in the slats of the crib. I had no idea I would see the horsey stick IN HIS CRIB! I have no idea how he got it in there, either! I had to leave the room before I laughed out loud! He's so funny!

GMA Bounce Party

We were invited to our friend's 4th birthday party. It was at GMA bounce place in Oviedo. It was a huge place full of bounce houses. The boys LOVED it! Thomas could run all over and climb and bounce. I followed Nathan who kept up with all the big kids. They bounced for a solid hour and a half! Then we had pizza and cake. The boys were worn out by the end!

Party Planning Mode

This week Nathan got a new haircut and now he looks like a big boy! Therefore, all the party invitations that I was working on needed to updated with his new haircut! I am using Shutterfly.com for the invitations and thank you cards. We all know how much Nathan LOVES Blues Clues and of course, it is not sold in stores. I created his invitations and thank you cards and wanted to share a sneak peek.

Big Boy Haircut

I took the boys to get their haircut on Wednesday. Thomas loves going to the place since they have flat screen TV's at each station and he gets to watch cartoons. Nathan was of course wiggly during his haircut. Even a lollipop didn't slow him down. Afterwards, he looked like such a big boy. Ken was sad when he saw him. He said, "He doesn't looke like a baby anymore!"
