First Practice for the Brewers

Nathan had a great first baseball practice. He was so excited! He even wanted to wear his cleats to school. The team is full of 13 active boys. They range from ages 3-6. The coach was very nice and encouraged the kids to have fun while learning about the sport. Thomas and Nathan volunteered me as Team Mom so I'll be busy even at the field! I think we're off to a great start!

Another Day on the Water

To help relax after the first week of school we took the boys for a boat ride. It was such a pretty day. This time we brought some fishing poles. Nathan is not as patient with fishing as Thomas but I'm sure that will come as he gets older. We are so glad that the boys love the water as much as we do.

Trophy Day at Basketball

The boys had a great summer playing basketball at the YMCA. Nathan was thrilled that he earned a trophy. Thomas was glad to another one to his collection. We were thankful that McKinley and Emily came to see Thomas' last game. The boys learned so much about the game and really played well by the end of the summer.

Baseball Ready

This weekend we signed both boys up for baseball through Oviedo Babe Ruth. Nathan will be on the T-ball team and Thomas is in the rookie division. Thomas has a skill assessment next weekend to determine the teams. Nathan was so excited to see the fields. He thought we were going to play! He was already talking about making a home run. Although this will add a lot of busyness to our weekly schedule I know the boys are going to truly enjoy themselves.

First Day of School

The boys are such troopers! I wake them up for school at 6:15 so that we can leave before 7am. Nathan was nervous about going back to school since he is in a new room. Once I got him to school he refused to smile for me. We dropped off his things at his cubby and saw his teacher. That made everything better since he already knew her. Mrs. Chow is so nice and the perfect fit for Nathan. He then got to eat breakfast with Ms. Sue. His absolute favorite lady. We're glad that she has the early morning schedule now. We had no tears which was so good! Thomas was excited to start his day but was surprised that he got homework on the first day! It will be a great year after we get back into our groove.

Boat Ride Fun

For the last day of summer we decided to go for a boat ride. We had so much fun. The boys were up and ready to go by 8 am. We took a long ride and the boys loved every minute. Ken is especially loving how Nathan is a good listener on the boat. He's got another fishing buddy!

Shrek the Musical

We met up with some friends at the Orlando Repertory Theater and saw the best show! Shrek the Musical was two hours long and absolutely our favorite show we've seen. The actors were amazing and the costumes and props were just like the movie. I was excited to show the boys a real orchestra pit and since we had great seats up front they got to watch the musicians, too. The show was so good that I tried getting us tickets to see it again but they were sold out. I'm so glad that we can share an appreciation for the arts with the boys.
