Our Firecrackers

We had a great night celebrating the Fourth of July with the Coffaro family. We tailgated for a few hours before the fireworks started at the Oviedo mall. The kids had fun meeting new kids we parked next to and we brought plenty of things to do to keep the kids busy as we waited.  Celebrating this holiday together is one of my most favorite traditions.

SOLD!

It only took 48 hours and 6 showings. We got a call Monday afternoon that someone wrote up an offer on the house. The realtor planned to come to our house to present the offer at 7pm.  Around 6pm he called and said that he was running late (something he hates) and said it was because a second offer had also been submitted. Two offers!!! WOW! We were excited and let's face it NERVOUS! We didn't expect anything to happen so quickly. Our realtor was here for a few hours going over all the details and the "what if's". We decided on accepting one of the offers. Now for the waiting part of the process. Over the next few weeks the house will be appraised. At that time we can accept the appraisal and move forward or we can reject it and put the house back on the market as an active listing. If we accept, then there is the home inspection (which we're not worried about at all). We might close by the end of August. In the meantime, we have to find another house, rent pods, maybe have a garage sale, start school, and work full time. No problem, right?! It's only temporary stress and in the end we'll be settled into a new home.

Still Celebrating

After LEGOLAND, we picked up a pizza and came home to relax. We weren't done with dinner but five minutes and Thomas was begging to go outside and try out his new bike. How can you say no to a birthday boy??? He absolutely loves his new bike. After some outside fun we came inside and had more of Nana's cupcakes and sang to Thomas. It was such a busy but fun day. Our baby is 8.

Legoland

Thomas wanted a Lego birthday but we started to discuss the details back in March he decided that he wanted to take a friend to LEGOLAND. We hadn't been there to visit and Jayden, his friend, hadn't been there either so it was perfect! We picked Jayden up at 8 am and headed there. I had printed these mini-figure masks for us to be silly with. I realized that by using these masks, no one had to smile and look at the camera all at the same time. It was great! The park was not crowded. Maybe the dark clouds kept them away. It rained for a few hours. Just enough to make us buy ponchos. We never had to take shelter, which was good. It was good that it wasn't too hot, either. The kids rode several rides. Nathan was tall enough to go on all of them and he measured himself at every ride just to announce that he could go on it. We loved how creative and patient people are to create such amazing items our of Legos. The best part that the boys liked was how you can trade mini-figures with the workers. Attached to their name tags were mini figures. We found one worker that easily had 100 mini-figures on his vest. The boys searched for a good 10 minutes for the one they wanted to trade theirs for. It was cute to watch. It was a fun way to spend Thomas' special day. He had such a fun time. Happy 8th Birthday!!

Thomas got a birthday button.

Happy 8th Birthday, Thomas!

Thomas is officially 8 years old. I'm not sure how that happened so fast. When he woke up he wanted to open his gifts. Nathan got him gum and a new water gun. He already had spilled the beans a few days before, so there was no surprise! Oh well! Ken and I got him the video game he was saving his money for and a new bike. His other bikes were too small and Nathan has been riding them. He was so surprised and excited. I didn't tell him that I rode it in Target and Ken tried it out in the parking lot. ha! It was a quick morning of celebrating before picking up Thomas' friend Jayden for a day at LEGOLAND!

Happy Early Birthday, Thomas!

We knew we wouldn't see family on Thomas' "real" birthday so we went over to Nana and Papa's house to do some early celebrating. They had a birthday banner up for him, Elizabeth made a delicious cake and Nana made some cupcakes. Uncle Mike got to come for a little while, too. Thomas was happy to get some spending money and my brother and sister got Thomas more swim lessons at the YMCA. Perfect!

Aquatic Center Fun

We met some friends at Oviedo Aquatic Center for some swimming fun. Thomas loves being on the twisty slide and Nathan just loved swimming without an adult. We spent a few hours there and even though it was overcast and we had sunscreen on, we still got rosey cheeks.
