Firkin fun

Our friends Ashley and her son Cameron invited us to join them at Firkin and Kegler for a little bowling fun. We started on the big lanes. It was a little surprising to find out that Thomas was too "old" to use the bumpers. You have to be six and under. Huh! He did his best and finally got the hang of it. Then we did a round of mini bowling and of course the arcade. The boys picked a whoopee cushion and a paddle ball. Both were broken by the end of the day. Go figure. It was a fun way to spend a Monday morning.

Nathan Turns FOUR!

All Nathan wanted for his fourth birthday was to have a Monster Truck party. Ever since we went to see the Monster Truck show in January that is all he has talked about. I have to admit I was a little bummed. How do you make a monster truck party cute??? Well I tried my best and I think he truly enjoyed it. Other than the minor one hour monsoon and the splash park not cooperating, I think everyone had fun. We were very thankful that everyone wanted to share in Nathan's special day even though it was Father's Day. It's hard to believe that this sweet boy is already four years old. We can't imagine our hearts without him.

Good Morning! Ready to open his presents!

Happy Anniversary Re-Do Day

Since Ken was working crazy hours during our anniversary we decided to have a "re-do" day.  My mom, dad and sister watched the boys so that Ken and I could go out to lunch at Jason's Deli and then run errands for Nathan's birthday. It was a simple day but at least we got to enjoy it together.

Mr. Jiggleman

We were invited by some friends to meet up at the Winter Park Library. Silly me, I thought we were going to a story time. No, no, no. We were going to see Mr. Jiggle Man. He is a children entertainer that uses music, his body and fun props to entertain. The children saw him bounce balls, use a leaf blower (in the library) and puff air into a jumpsuit and across his face. It was a super fun show. Afterwards, we stuck around to get a picture with him and he slithered out of the chairs just to make the boys laugh. You get a chance go see Mr. Jiggle Man!

Basketball practice

Our boys are active boys. They have to stay busy or else they get into trouble. We decided to sign them up for summer basketball at the YMCA. Our practices and games are at the YMCA at Jay Blanchard Park. Nathan was absolutely giddy with excitement about his first practice. He insisted on wearing Thomas' old jersey. Thomas is super excited that his best buddy from school is on his team. Our games start this Saturday and I'm sure they will both do great.

Stop at Twistee Treat

Our first week of summer vacation went by too quickly but it was already full of great memories. They love their swim lessons and we went to the movies twice. We got to spend time with Nana, Papa and Aunt Lizzie who is in town visiting until July. The only down fall was that Daddy had to work overtime and boy-oh-boy did he work! He worked 56 hours of overtime on top of his regular 40 hour week. Talk about a tired Daddy. Talk about kids that miss their Daddy! After we ran some errands to prepare for Nathan's upcoming birthday, we stopped at Twistee Treat and got some ice cream. Summer is all about having ice cream before lunch, right?!

Publix Taste Testers

After swim lessons I needed to stop at Publix for a few things. We made our way to the bakery to get a cookie as usual, but when we got to the produce section a lady offered the boys a piece of watermelon! Yummy! It was sweet and cold! Of course we had to buy some, too.
