Western Day

Friday was Western Day at school. It was another great excuse to use the costume Thomas wore for Halloween. Nathan had fun wearing his hat. Thomas and his ole-buddy, Owen, wore the same costume. Great minds think alike!

Thomas Needs New Shoes

Thomas has always had bad luck with shoes. He either looses them or he wears them out. When I saw Thomas after school, his Extended Day teacher had taped the sole on just to get him through the rest of the day. Poor Thomas. Well, maybe not poor Thomas since he got to go to Shoe Carnival and pick out a new pair of shoes.

Painting Project Update

Ken and I were able to paint the house in one weekend thanks to my mom coming over and helping watch the boys. We still have to paint the garage, but we were told we needed a different type of paint so that it wouldn't rust in years to come. We really like the color (thank goodness!) The front yard is our next major project. We are going to be placing stone around the the flower beds, removing and planting new plants. I think that this would be a good time to add a simple sprinkler system, but we'll have to see how adventurous this project becomes. It's amazing how one thing leads to another in home ownership.

I'll have to take a better picture later on. It was a cloudy morning before 7am when I took it.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is a very rare holiday that is "celebrated" at our house. It's nice when Nana can come over and bring goodies for all of us. The boys LOVED their new pillow buddies. Nathan is just a little taller than the Elmo.

 

Painting Project Day #1

Technically, Ken has been prepping the house for painting all week long, but today he spent the entire day taping off the house and starting to paint. I am so happy that I love the color. Choosing colors is not easy for me, so this was a huge step for us. Tomorrow we will put on a second coat, paint the trim "Parchment White" and also paint the garage door. Oh, the joys of home ownership.

Uh Oh!

This is what happens when you leave the room for a split second while there is a full bag of fruit loops on the table. Nathan pulled the chair out, climbed up to the table to get the bag and proceeded to dump the entire bag on the floor. He said, "Uh, Oh!" and then ate a few from the pile.
